Energy and presence. 2 weeks of in-depth study, thinking and acting upon energy, plus 12 years of teaching this concept and I think I am closer to really understanding it.

7% of our communication is words or language.

35% is the tone we use.

58% is our body language.

From job interviews to dates, conversations over the phone to oil paintings, this is true. Think about it for yourself, when you are really present to someone don’t you think you can read them, get them, know them to some extent without really needing words?

I’ve been going to a weekly amazing witness & meditation circle for 6 months and one of the practices we do is to be witnessed and appreciated. Energetically. It amazes me how I can keep my mouth shut (we don’t need the 7% worth when we have a whopping 58% conveyed with our very energetic presence), and at the end of my session I have a group of people who share with me what they indeed witnessed and appreciated.

Without me having to say a single word they are so spot on the money regarding what I was feeling on the inside that I feel like everything that I was (smugly) keeping hidden or under wraps is actually radiating from me, no matter what the feeling.

It’s the most naked I have ever felt, and also the most understood.

My suggestions to you to ponder over this week:

~ what presence do you want to be (different presence is useful for interviews compared to being on the dance floor for example)

~ who are you drawn to that you could model energetic presence from?
