Do you think paybacks work?
Do you have a mental checklist of things that are not in balance currently?
I’m playing with the concept of paybacks ATM. As in a physical action of repaying – whether it be exercise that was missed, savings to your savings account, or time that you had promised to yourself.
I feel that that’s how people are able to push through to their holidays, even when work has been crazy and they may not have had much balance in their life in the lead-up to the break.
The only points at which this payback might not work though is if you have a breakdown in the system along the way (you could get sick, or an extra curve ball comes along that you hadn’t anticipated), and/or you don’t pay yourself first.
Do you agree?
Am starting with myself first these days (more often) and am just witnessing & sitting with the often-times discomfort that this place and space feels for me. Paying myself first and ‘pay-backing’ myself first certainly is allowing me to do more, be more & have greater balance in my life. Speaking of which I’m heading out the door to a yoga class I need to make up, because I know if I do everything else flows so much more easily 🙂
